The statutory responsibility of the State Engineer is to remain neutral and to consider all the information presented based on sound science and applicable laws.

A decision on this matter will be made at some point after the time period for public comment has ended. Public comments will be accepted at the hearing and in writing until November 3, 2006. Please see the Schedule for information. As State Engineer, I will take the time necessary to reach what I consider to be the correct decision, and I will not speculate on a firm date for releasing my ruling.

Additional comment on this specific water-rights hearing is not appropriate due to the quasi-judicial nature of these proceedings.
